Whereas, the US has seen an alarming increase in the past 5 years of mass shootings, domestic terrorism, and even natural disasters; and
Whereas, many of these horrible scenarios have occurred in places where children, teens, and young adults have been in the center of these situations with seven in ten mass shootings occur in schools or businesses; and
Whereas, bystanders at the scene of these events with appropriate knowledge of CPR and other basic life support skills could make a difference in victim outcomes and even save lives while waiting for help to come.; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Academy support and promote the inclusion of life saving skills, such as CPR and Stop the Bleed initiative, into middle school and high school education across the country to better prepare our communities to be able to attend to victims and give first responders enough time to be able save the lives of many more of the injured during these horrific events.

What evidence do we have that these classes improve outcomes?

I support this resolution, though I believe we need to have some data as stated in the aforementioned comment. Otherwise this resolution carries the weight of little more than common sense. So I agree with the spirit but believe there needs to be more.

I would simplify the resolve. Great policy. remove - 'across the country', remove - remove last part of statement everything after 'attend to victims.'
